JUNIOR COACHING – Spring 2019 Schedule – here
Junior Tennis Coaching
Coaching is available to all junior members of Blackrock Bowling & Tennis Club aged 5 plus. The junior programme is divided into three terms in line with school terms and following school breaks (mid-term etc.) We aim to keep classes to a maximum ratio of 8 kids per coach, particularly with younger children
Classes are held between 3 and 7pm Monday to Thursday and from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays.
Groups are based on both AGE and STANDARD. Assessments are undertaken at the start of the year by the Coaches to ascertain which class a junior should join.
The Club follows the ITF Tennis 10’s Official Programme for introducing tennis for players aged 10-and-under this is made up of three progressive stages, starting with Red (Stage 3), then Orange (Stage 2) and finally the Green (Stage 1). Players should only progress from stage to stage based on their technical and tactical competence – it is not a ‘Race to the Yellow ball’ and full court.
